01 · Explain what concerns you
State the main issue, what you hope to achieve and whether a date or document requires immediate attention. A few lines are enough for the first enquiry, without detailed personal information about third parties.
02 · Agree the practical details
Contact the office to agree the day, time and meeting format. If you are outside Athens or need a remote discussion, mention this so availability and suitable arrangements can be confirmed.
03 · Organise a short file
Prepare a chronology of the main events, key agreements or decisions and substantive correspondence. Keep the originals. The method for sharing documents will be agreed with the office.
04 · Discuss scope and fees
Before work begins, ask to clarify the scope of the initial assessment, the fee and any expenses. If further action is needed, discuss its extent, the factors affecting the timetable and how you will be kept informed.
YOUR STARTING POINT
Four useful questions
- What outcome am I seeking?
- Has a document been served, or is there a deadline or planned action?
- Which documents do I have and what is missing?
- What needs clarification about scope, fees and next steps?
